Sammy Cheezecake has been baking savory delightful Cheesecakes & Cakes since 2005. Each and every dessert is baked from scratch with love & passion using the finest ingredients. Our variety of flavors and sizes are the perfect desserts for birthday celebrations, showers, holiday events, office parties or any special occasion. You can also stop by our wonderful storefront for a delicious slice of dessert.
Sammy is an Atlanta native who attended and graduated from Westlake High School. In 2003, he decided to attend Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School and pursue his passion for cooking and dreams of becoming a “Master Chef”. Sammy always had an extraordinary gift for taste. This special gift was unlocked when he whipped up his first cheesecake for a class assignment.
In addition to being a full-time student, Sammy also worked full time at the Hilton Atlanta Airport. After paying all of his monthly expenses, he didn’t have much disposable income and decided to sell his cheesecake to generate extra income. The people in the community loved it and with a single hand mixer, a large bowl, one 9 inch pan, and a “Dream” he baked utilizing his parents’ home. Sammy eventually expanded his menu to include not only cheesecakes, but red velvet, yellow chocolate, lemon, and other variety of traditional cakes.
By the time Sammy graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in 2005, the demand for his delicious desserts had grown tremendously. In 2006, he stepped out on faith and resigned from his job at the Hilton to follow his new passion for baking desserts. For years, he peddled cheesecakes and cakes out the back of his truck, bringing sweets by the slice into banks, car dealerships, and barbershops. Georgia Power, Morehouse School of Medicine, Marta Headquarters, Randstad Headquarters, and Cox Communications became some of his biggest clients. Eventually his parents had to step in to help Sammy by doing the shopping, slicing cakes, calling customers, and delivering the cakes. In 2012, Sammy accomplished his dream and opened his store-front Sammy’s CheezeCake in East Point, GA.
The help and support from his parents, family, community, the opportunity to meet and receive words of wisdom from Truett Cathy, and his strong faith in “GOD” are some of the key contributors that help Sammy achieve his dreams. In 2014, he was featured in the Atlanta Magazine October and December editions as “The Best Baker you’ve never heard of”.
Where are you located?
We are located approximately 2 minutes from the Campcreek Market Place right off of the intersection of Campcreek Pkwy and Washington Road.
Do you bake custom/wedding cakes or sheet cakes?
We currently do not bake custom, wedding, or sheet cakes.
Our cakes are traditional old fashion round. However, you can request a personalized message on most cakes and we do bake limited groom’s wedding cakes.
How far in advance should I order?
Orders are currently accepted via phone or inside the bakery.
Orders should be placed 3-5 days in advance. Holiday orders should be placed 10-14 days in advance.
Should I refrigerate cheesecakes and cakes?
Refrigerate all cheesecakes. German Chocolate and Cream Cheese frosting cakes can be stored at room temperature for 24 hours, we recommend you refrigerate after 24 hours. Chocolate frosting cakes do not require refrigeration.
Do you ship cakes/cheesecakes?
We currently do not provide shipping services.
Do you provide delivery services?
We currently provide limit delivery of Wholecakes & Cheesecakes.
Do any of your products contain Allergens?
Our Cheesecakes & Cakes may contain dairy, nuts, flour, gelatin, eggs and oil. Sammy Cheezecake cannot be held accountable for any issues resulting from food allergies.
